We know first hand that parenting can be difficult at times, even for those who embrace it, but we are relishing its countless rewards. We believe that it's very important for a couple to keep their marriage strong as the core of the family, so we make sure we have time to connect with each other. One of our favorite things to do after Sabrina goes to bed each night is to sit down in our living room together and share the high-lights and challenges of our day. We love retelling the funny or amazing things Sabrina said or did. We also use this time at night to talk about how our parenting seems to be working, and what adjustments might be needed. One of our strengths is that we share responsibilities and work well as a team. Our love for each other and strong communication skills will help us set a loving example of a stable, secure relationship for your child.

While being a teacher is important to Nina, being a mom is her favorite and most important job. We have decided that Nina will stay home for the first year and a half, or so, with our second child, as she did for Sabrina. When she does go back to work, she will teach part-time (2-3 days a week) as she does now. Sabrina goes to an amazing preschool two days a week, which has given her the opportunity to grow socially and intellectually. A couple of times a month during the school year, Nina works an extra day. On those days, Sabrina spends the day with either set of grandparents and looks forward to her special time with them. Eventually, when both of our children are in school full time, Nina will have the same holidays and summers off. It's a perfect schedule!
