Becoming Parents

Our road to becoming parents was a long one with many twists and turns, but in January 2005, through the blessing of adoption, our long awaited dream of becoming parents came true. We chose to name our daughter Sabrina because it has the letters from both of our first names; and while she did not come from our bodies, she is a part of our hearts and we are each a part of hers. At her birthmother's request, we currently have a closed adoption, but if someday she changes her mind, we would love to be able to reassure her that her daughter is doing quite well. We will be forever grateful for the courageous decision she made that allowed us to become a family. We talk openly with Sabrina about her adoption and will do the same for our next child. Adoption may not be the typical path to forming a family, but it is a hard-made choice made out of love and we would make sure your child knew that. We would be delighted to share letters and pictures with you, but we would also understand and respect your privacy if that is what you wish.
